Dieci anni fa apparve nel cielo una misteriosa sfera nera che distrusse la città sottostante. Kagerou e Momiji erano bambini ai tempi di questa catastrofe e sono cresciuti insieme all'ombra di questa infausta struttura. C'è un'evidente attrazione tra i due ma Kegerou non vuole dichiarare i suoi sentimenti all'amica perché pensa di non essere in grado di proteggerla. Un giorno la sfera attacca di nuovo, trasformando le persone in mostri.
