At the dawn of 1600, under the reign of Hideyoshi Toyotomi, the lord Mumeharu Matsunoki and his son, Midorimaru, are tasked with secretly planning the construction of a new castle. Silence is a must, because the issue could cause quite a stir: not only will the building not respect local tradition in favor of the European way but, to free the location chosen to host it, it will be necessary to clear out an entire village, which even contains a school. Between loves, betrayals, revenge and twists, the construction becomes an increasingly tangled affair and the castle already seems to be under siege before it has even been put up!

Agli albori del 1600, sotto il regno di Hideyoshi Toyotomi, il signore Mumeharu Matsunoki e il figlio, Midorimaru, sono incaricati di progettare in segreto la costruzione di un nuovo castello. Il silenzio è d’obbligo, perché la questione potrebbe destare molto scalpore: non solo l’edificio non rispetterà la tradizione locale a favore della maniera europea ma, per liberare la location prescelta per ospitarlo, sarà necessario sgomberare un intero villaggio, che contiene perfino una scuola. Tra amori, tradimenti, vendette e colpi di scena, la costruzione diventa un affare sempre più ingarbugliato e il castello sembra già essere sotto assedio prima ancora di essere stato messo in piedi!
