Soichi can be defined as the anti-Tomie: his only goal is to cast curses on all the people (and there are many) who unleash his wrath. The problem is that he rarely succeeds. Ito confirms that he is a master of horror by managing to put it at the service of surreal and humorous stories, in which the disturbing protagonist resorts to extreme means (unleashing terrible demons and lethal diseases) to punish classmates and relatives, in a crescendo as scary as it is surprising.
