When a spirit enters the human world, it can possess an old object and take on a human form, taking the name tsukumogami. These spirits can be kind or violent, in which case the Saenome clan helps send them back to avoid disaster. Hyouma is a member of the clan, but is overwhelmed by an exasperated hatred for spirits, which exposes him to the danger of causing, in the act of duty, supernatural catastrophes. His grandfather then decides to send him to live with Botan, an extravagant woman who lives with the tsukumogami... as if they were her family! Will this experience teach Hyouma to control his emotions or is the boy destined to remain a prey to his anger forever?
