To attend university Hinako moves to Chiba, her hometown. She loves surfing and, when she is in the waves, she is never afraid, but by nature she harbors several doubts about her future out of the water. One summer night, some thugs shoot contraband fireworks from an abandoned skyscraper and end up hitting and setting fire to the building complex where the protagonist lives. As the fire devastates the building, Hinako escapes to the roof and is saved by the young firefighter Minato. Among the crazy fireworks and flames, love at first sight strikes. With the excuse of surfing lessons, the two spend more and more time together... Hinako feels inspired by Minato, a person who wants to dedicate his life to helping others, so much so that one winter day...

Per frequentare l’università Hinako si trasferisce a Chiba, la sua città d'origine. Lei ama il surf e, quando è tra le onde, non ha mai paura, invece per sua natura cova diversi dubbi sul suo futuro fuori dall'acqua. Una notte d'estate, alcuni balordi sparano fuochi d'artificio di contrabbando da un grattacielo abbandonato e finiscono per colpire ed incendiare il complesso immobiliare in cui vive la protagonista. Mentre l'incendio devasta l'edificio, Hinako fugge sul tetto e viene salvata dal giovane pompiere Minato. Tra i fuochi d'artificio impazziti e le fiamme scocca un colpo di fulmine. Con la scusa delle lezioni di surf, i due passano sempre più tempo insieme... Hinako si sente ispirata da Minato, una persona che vuole dedicare la sua vita ad aiutare il prossimo, tanto che un giorno d'inverno...
